Adaptive Coach
Strength training that plans around the equipment you actually have today, the injury you are working around, and what you lifted last time. It already knows your history, so you do not have to explain yourself twice.
The idea
A plan that survives contact with real life
Most programmes assume a full gym, an uninjured body, and a week that goes as written. Adaptive Coach starts from the opposite assumption, and adapts instead of asking you to skip the session.
Train where you are
Set up each place you train and what it has, from a full gym to a pair of dumbbells to nothing at all. Bodyweight only is a valid answer. The plan balances your week across those places.
Up next, not Tuesday
The app suggests what to train next rather than pinning workouts to calendar days. Miss a day and nothing is broken, because there was never a day to miss.
Something hurting
Report a niggle and the plan works around it. When it settles, the app offers a graded return at about eighty percent before asking whether you are ready for full load again.
In the app
Three tabs and a coach you can talk to
Workout, My Plan, and Insights, with the coach as a helper you open when something needs explaining rather than a chat window you have to negotiate with first.
Workout
Start the suggested session, pick a different day at that place's equipment, or build something off plan entirely. Per set, you get a target, a timer, and one tap to log what you did.
My Plan
An editor, not a printout. Reorder moves, link them into supersets, swap anything you dislike, or replace it yourself from the library. Every exercise carries a how-to.
Insights
Your log, grouped by month, and the progression nudges that come out of it: which lifts have stalled, and which are ready to go up.
No account, no server, no upload
Adaptive Coach runs completely on your iPhone. There is no sign-up, nothing is sent anywhere, and your training history stays on the device. That is an architectural decision rather than a policy: there is no backend to send it to.
How it decides
The numbers are never guessed
Which swaps are valid, whether a lift has stalled, and what weight comes next are all worked out by a deterministic engine. The coach handles the language, so you can say "the cable machine is broken" instead of hunting through a menu, but it never invents the training decision behind it.
One engine, twice
The engine is written once as a reference implementation and mirrored on the device, with a self test that checks the two produce identical results before anything ships.
Goal aware swaps
A substitute has to match the training intent and respect your goals, not merely hit the same muscle. The candidate list is filtered before anything is offered to you.
Offers, not edits
Suggestions are offered and never applied behind your back. Nothing changes your plan unless you accept it.
