Getting into Marichyasana D
From Dandasana, fold your right leg into half-lotus (foot high on the opposite hip crease) and bend your left knee up in front of you, foot flat on the floor. Twist toward the bent left knee and bind your arms around it and behind your back, the same wrap as Marichyasana C, now over the lotus leg.
Described on the right side. On the left, swap right for left throughout.
What a teacher would tell you
- Bind around the lotus leg.
- Twist deeply, evenly.
- Protect the lotus knee.
These are the corrections My Ashtanga speaks aloud while you hold the posture.
