Getting started

Add an item, either from a template or your own, and tell it how often it comes round. When you have done it, mark it done and pick the date. The next due date is counted from that date.

I don't know when I last did it

Say so. The App will not invent a date it was not given: the item sits as due-unknown and shows up as something to look at soon, rather than pretending to a schedule it cannot actually calculate. Once you mark it done the first time, the interval starts running properly.

I'm late — have I lost the schedule?

No. Being late is normal and the App is built for it. The next date counts forward from when you actually did it, so lateness shifts the schedule rather than compounding into a backlog of dates you missed.

I entered the wrong date

Open the item and edit the completion. The due date recalculates from the corrected date.

Notifications

The App sends a daily digest of what is due, at a time you choose in Settings. It is scheduled locally on your device. If nothing arrives, check that notifications are allowed for Upkeeping in the iOS Settings app.

The widget

Add it from the home screen widget gallery. It shows what is due without opening the App, and makes no network requests of its own.

Location, and why the widget asks

It is optional, and everything works without it. A coarse, city-level position lets the App compute sunrise, sunset, and moon phase on the device for the widget's ambient display. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Where is my data

On your device, and — if you are signed in to iCloud — in your own private iCloud database, so it appears on your other devices. We cannot see it and cannot recover it for you. See the Privacy Policy.

There is no in-app purchase or subscription at the moment. If that changes, it will be shown in the App Store listing before you install, and here.
