Getting into Ardha Baddha Padmottanasana

Standing on your left leg, bend your right knee and place your right foot high on your left hip crease in a half-lotus position. Reach your right arm around behind your back to catch your right foot, then fold forward over your standing leg, keeping your hips square.

Described on the right side. On the left, swap right for left throughout.

What a teacher would tell you

  • Bind the foot high on the hip crease.
  • Fold evenly over the standing leg.
  • Square the hips forward.

These are the corrections My Ashtanga speaks aloud while you hold the posture.
