Getting into Matsyasana

Lying on your back with your legs in lotus (or straight, if lotus isn't available), press your forearms and elbows into the floor and arch your chest up, bringing the crown of your head lightly to the floor. Hold your feet with your hands if your legs are in lotus.

What a teacher would tell you

  • Crown of the head to the floor.
  • Chest opening.
  • Lotus pressing down.

These are the corrections My Ashtanga speaks aloud while you hold the posture.
