Getting into Paschimottanasana B
The second variation deepens the grip: catch the outer edges of your feet with your whole hands, ring fingers near the heels, thumbs on the base of the big toes. Fold forward from the hips on the exhale, keeping the spine long and the legs engaged. It's a slightly stronger hold than catching the toes.
What a teacher would tell you
- Grasp the outer edges of the feet.
- Fold from the hips, not the back.
- Relax the neck.
These are the corrections My Ashtanga speaks aloud while you hold the posture.
